Getting the Most from Golf Lessons.
Some people find it very difficult to ask for help, but in golf, it is practically a necessity to seek
help. Golf lessons is a good exampl. Unfortunately, we often ask our friends and partners to give us golf lessons,
when in reality we should be taking golf lessons from a professional golfer, usually called the Club
Pro.
Getting the Most from Golf Lessons.
The problem is that people have learned the best way of playing golf for them, but their method may not work for
you. Maybe you think that a Pro would criticize you too harshly during the golf lessons, but the fact is
that they are usually honest, positive and really very helpful.
Golf lessons at your local golf course are not as expensive as you might think and they are worth it
because your game will improve more rapidly and cause you less frustration, making the game much more enjoyable for
you.
After all, you do not want to learn bad habits straight from the start, do you? It would be far better to have a
few golf lessons in the beginning, even record them on video and watch them until the golf lessons are second
nature.
It is of utmost importance to be absolutely honest about your game. The Pro will ask you what you think you need
to start with: driving, chipping, putting or whatever you feel that you need help with.
Listen carefully and follow the Pro's instructions. You may have doubts if the Pro changes your stance, your
grip or your swing, but really, the Pro does know best.
Please do not hesitate to ask the Pro golfer any questions you may have during your golf lessons and do not
worry about whether your question or concern sounds silly or not - they have been asked it all before and
will not make you feel like an idiot for inquiring. If you do not understand, tell the Pro that you do not
understand. You should never walk away from golf lessons with unposed questions.
For example, one strategy might be to concentrate on one thing at a time during a golf lesson, or you
might be able to cover several. You might start with a golf lesson on driving; get the right grip, the right
stance, the right swing, the right follow-through in one lesson, and then practice it for a few weeks until you
feel that you've got it right. Next time, you might want to work on your short game, or putting.
You have invested in the golfing equipment and it isn't cheap, is it? Therefore, it does not make sense not to
learn how to use it to it's best advantage and improve your game by taking professional golfing lessons, does
it?
